Criminal Law Revision Notes
These are very concise revision notes that aim to serve as a memorisation aid. The notes are set out in a logical, step-by-step form that makes the content easy to apply to problem questions. There is also some academic commentary included.
The following topics are covered:
- Mens rea and actus reus
- Non-fatal offences against the person
- Homicide
- Theft
- Fraud
- Sexual offences
- Defences
- Participation and group crime
- Joint criminal enterprise.
There are two problem question plans enclosed at the end. They demonstrate how you can use these notes to answer problem questions on non-fatal offences against the person, theft, attempts, homicide, sexual offences and defences.
It is possible to use these notes to relatively quickly memorise the whole of the content covered once you have gone through and understood the topics. The strategy you can use to memorise the content is included at the start of the notes.
Please note that these are the revision notes I personally used to secure a first class result in my Criminal Law exam. They are not guaranteed to work for everyone or to replicate the content covered by all Universities. They were up to date to the best of my knowledge at the time of writing, which was between 2017 and 2020. Please ensure that they cover the areas that you need to know before relying on them. I accept no liability for any errors or omissions within the notes.
